Avrom Kurtz, MD
Dr. Kurtz is a board-certified neurologist specializing in movement disorders and completed his medical degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training at the University of North Carolina Hospitals at Chapel Hill, where he completed his internship in internal medicine, residency in neurology (serving as chief resident) and fellowship in movement disorders. Dr. Kurtz works to provide all his patients with individualized care and a tailored treatment plan.

Dr. Kristen Nielsen with Exempla Lutheran Neurology in Wheat Ridge, Colorado

Kirsten Nielsen, MD
Dr. Nielsen received her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC). She furthered her postgraduate education at UCHSC with fellowship training in epilepsy. Dr. Nielsen is board certified in both neurology and epilepsy. She specializes in epilepsy monitoring, treatment and research, and is one of only two fellowship trained epileptologists in the West Denver region. Dr. Nielsen is the Medical Director of the Epilepsy Program at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center. Exempla Lutheran offers the latest in epilepsy monitoring equipment including specially trained nurses in neurology.

Dr. Douglas Redosh with Exempla Lutheran Neurology in Wheat Ridge, Colorado Douglas Redosh, MD
Dr. Redosh, is board-certified in neurology. He completed his medical degree at Temple University at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He specializes in general neurology, stroke and the treatment of dystonia. Dr. Redosh is the medical director of the Intermediate Neurological Care Area and assistant director of the Lutheran Stroke Center.
Melissa Butler, PA-C
Melissa received her Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her experience includes treating pediatric and adult patients with neurological diseases, treating patients with multiple sclerosis and assisting in orthopedic and spine surgery cases. Melissa’s clinic interests include multiple sclerosis, migraine headaches and mental illness. Her philosophy of care is to provide the highest level of individualized quality care to all patients. In her free time Melissa enjoys traveling, playing soccer, running and skiing.
Scott Pearson, PA-C
Scott received his Master of Medical Science Degree from Saint Francis University and completed physician assistant studies at Red Rocks Community College.His experience includes caring for neurology patients with epilepsy and clinical genetics research. Scott’s clinic interests include treating patients with epilepsy and working with patients with developmental disabilities. His philosophy of care is to maximize quality of life with effective treatments. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, enjoying the Colorado outdoors.
